Sussex Falconry is not a Falconry Centre, but is a close, personal & private collection of 20 birds which form the core of the business. Some of the birds have been part of the collection for many years.

Most experiences are held in the heart of Sussex, at Fair Oak Farm in Mayfield near Tunbridge Wells. Surrounded by uninterupted views of the countryside the experiences are at one with nature without the noisy distractions you may find at other experience providers. 

Established in 2003, Steven Charlton has practised falconry for 16 years & provides falconry at all levels, whether it be school educational visits, fetes, fairs, fayres or private demonstrations for personal events, often assisted by his wife Katie.   

This also includes hands on experiences, show, televison & film work. Sussex Falconry has even flown falcons for the military attache at the United Arabs Emirates Embassy. 

The highlight of the calender year is England's Medieval Festival held annually in the beautiful grounds of Herstmonceux Castle near Battle, East Sussex.

Here the grandest of demonstrations are conducted by Steven Charlton (Sussex Falconry), in medieval costume, with up to 22 birds & 10 other professional handlers from all around the UK, who come together to participate in this huge three day event, said to be the largest in Europe!
